TECNOPLANO was formed in 1966 by Nelson Montes as the first Portuguese company dedicated to Project Management and Consulting Engineering. In 1972 it was formally registered as TECNOPLANO, S.A. establishing itself as a market reference given the “know-how” and permanent updating, the methodologies developed, and its disclosure and application in Projects of great complexity and scale.
DIVERSIFICATION AND INTERNATIONALIZATION
In 1999 the company was acquired by Manuel de Matos Pinho which, with 30 years of distinguished professional activity in LNEC (Portuguese National Civil Engineering Laboratory), as a Designer, Construction Manager, General Manager of Construction and Real Estate Companies, started a process of diversification of TECNOPLANO for new areas of activity. This process, based on skills already endogenized in the Company, but not yet explored, allowed a systematic approach to new market sectors, making available multi-disciplinary skills in order to match global and integrated demands and needs of Customers.
PRESENT AND FUTURE
In 2017, Bernardo Matos de Pinho takes over the leadership of the TECNOPLANO Group assisted by the remaining members Pedro Matos de Pinho and Eugénio Motta da Cruz.
At that time, Bernardo Matos de Pinho had more than 21 years of professional experience, 19 of them in TECNOPLANO in the areas of Project, Supervision, Commercial Direction and in recent years in the Management and Administration of several companies of the Group, including in the Board of Directors of TECNOPLANO, S.A.
In this new cycle, TECNOPLANO’s mission is to maintain its position as a reference company in the field of Consultancy in Engineering and Architecture in Portugal, to consolidate its position in the external Markets where the Group has been operating, and to pursue the sectorial and geographical diversification, which has shown to be of essence for the Group’s sustainability.
